Hi Eraps!
It's been a while since I last posted from this site. On behalf of the officers, I encourage everyone to keep this guild site alive and kicking. So, if you guys have anything worthwhile to share be it fight strategies, class or spec tips, or some camaraderie-enhancing exercise, please feel free to post in here. :)
Now, in the spirit of the halloween celebration, I'd like you guys to post any spooky screenshot in-game and drop a line or two as a caption for that pic. I'll be choosing 2 random winners for this and the lucky guildies will get to take home a Haris Pilton bag (if I'm not mistaken this is a BOE bag) for a cool 22-slot bag and an achievement to boot!
Good luck!
Cheers,
Dol :)
A Case Study
So, it’s that time again when I would have to hand out some interesting prizes, get the Eraption community views, and allow them to interact with each other through this website. For this one, I will be raffling off 3 crusader orbs randomly and 3 scrolls of powerful enchant to chest; 1 crusader orb and 1 scroll per person. Deadline of entries would be on October 1, 2009. I will announce the winners here on October 2.
The purpose:
The purpose of this survey is to get the views of the Eraption community. There are certain things that raid leaders are not aware of and they may get good nuggets from this exercise.
You might see a small restructure in the ranks of our guild to make it simple and understandable, here is an article explaining it. I also renamed the titles to military-style so people would easily understand it.
Cadet - the first rank you get when you join the guild. cadets have a 1 month probationary period where we analyze and asses if you are a good fit for the guild.
Private - this is the first promotion you get after 1 month. this means that you are a fit for the guild. this rank usually is for the people who are still levelling and for casual gamers who do not raid. Privates already have access to the guild bank tabs and have a small daily repair allowance.
Sergeant - everyone who goes raids are in this category. they have access to a higher repair allowance and tab 4 (Raid Mats)
Colonel - all aspiring officers will be under this rank. before they become a general, they have to be examined and checked if they have the leadership skills to be an officer.
General - they are the CO-GM's of the guild, they share the same responsibility as the GM. They run the raids, discuss guild strategy and look at the guild member's welfare.
Field Marshal - the GM rank.
Please let me know if you have questions regarding the ranks via in-game mail
Paladins have come a long way since classic WoW. The orignal Paladin was a hybrid support class that could neither MT a raid boss as well as a Warrior nor DPS as well as other DPS classes. Even as healers they played a limited role as single point target (while useful in many situations, a Holy Paladin would never be seriously asked to group heal compared to other healers.) Despite their original design limitations to excel in a specific role (due to their hybrid nature), Paladins did bring a lot of utility to raids in Classic WoW, with blessings and auras and back up healing.
These days, after the WotLK expansion, we see Paladins fulfiling all roles admirably and effectively. Paladins can main tank all raid bosses [including Vezax :P] (although they may need to rely on trinkets instead of abilities for a few [especially Vezax :P]). They can also dish out amazing DPS in raid situtations, as evidenced by many of our fellow eraps. And they still fulfil an important role as a single point healer (although they have some splash heals now available to them through glyphs and a talent.)
Despite Blizzard's redesign of the Paladin after WotLK, Blizzard did not nerf (to any considerable degree) the utility a Paladin can bring to raids. So currently, not only do Paladins hold their own for their designated role in a raid, they can also bring tremendous support to the raid.
