A (Horde Only) Paladin Quiz - Can You Swing It?

Introduction

Paladins have come a long way since classic WoW.  The orignal Paladin was a hybrid support class that could neither MT a raid boss as well as a Warrior nor DPS as well as other DPS classes.  Even as healers they played a limited role as single point target (while useful in many situations, a Holy Paladin would never be seriously asked to group heal compared to other healers.)  Despite their original design limitations to excel in a specific role (due to their hybrid nature), Paladins did bring a lot of utility to raids in Classic WoW, with blessings and auras and back up healing.

These days, after the WotLK expansion, we see Paladins fulfiling all roles admirably and effectively. Paladins can main tank all raid bosses [including Vezax :P] (although they may need to rely on trinkets instead of abilities for a few [especially Vezax :P]).  They can also dish out amazing DPS in raid situtations, as evidenced by many of our fellow eraps.  And they still fulfil an important role as a single point healer (although they have some splash heals now available to them through glyphs and a talent.)

Despite Blizzard's redesign of the Paladin after WotLK, Blizzard did not nerf (to any considerable degree) the utility a Paladin can bring to raids.  So currently, not only do Paladins hold their own for their designated role in a raid, they can also bring tremendous support to the raid.

What you say is what you are

I have on several occasions contemplated on writing something about few guidelines akin to Eraption code of conduct but have found myself on those times ambivalent hence I decided that it is unnecessary since we have mostly mature players in the guild who expectedly will act maturely. However, now, I feel compelled to pen my thoughts on basic don’ts of chat just to make sure some lines are never crossed.

The fact that I have to state obvious things here is not particularly rewarding. It feels like I’m challenging your common sense and basic courtesy. Moreover, I do not want to seem like I have the moral ascendancy nor be perceived as saintly in my actions as that isn’t my intention. So, for all the love and good in this world, for peace on earth and goodwill to men, let’s have a run down on basic don’ts for Eraptioners.

Offensive, foul, vulgar, and prurient language is not allowed in guild/raid chat.

What's in a name?

That which we call a rose.  :)

Hi all!

I was browsing wowarmory.com last Tuesday night and got surprised to see that we have 275 members in the guild.  Well, of course a great part of those are alts, low-level players, or inactive players but it is still nevertheless a huge figure for me.  The highest number of people online that I've seen so far was around 33.

In any case, I am curious to know why, what, where, when, and how did you come up with your name in WOW.  Alright, probably not the what, when, and where aspect anymore.  I encourage everyone to post in here and perhaps be a channel to get to know the other guildies better since we're growing.  Sort of the first day in school where you are asked to introduce yourself and tell something abour yourself activity. Sort of.  Just make it short & sweet & funny if you can.

I am raffling off 3 powerful stats to chest enchanting scroll to 3 participants (1 each).  I know it's not a sweepstake prize but that's not the point of this activity.  I'll announce the winners here and deadline of entries is on August 23.

To get the ball rolling, my name was coined from Dolores O'Riordan of Cranberries. Almost all of my wow characters were named after women who rocks (Oh Well, I only have 2 actually - a level 60 Mage named Casidy after Eva Cassidy).

Dol :)
